Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Altenew’s annual Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop! If you came here from Tenia Nelson’s blog, you're on the right track. If not, be sure to go back the Altenew Blog, and start from there so you don't miss a thing!

As Mother's Day and Father's Day draw near, it can be a challenging time for seniors in nursing homes or shelters. Our goal is to ensure that these individuals feel cherished, appreciated, and respected. That's why Altenew created the Celebrating Parents Card Drive (click the link for more info).

The Celebrating Parents Card Drive is another wonderful way for you to show the amazing love and support we share in the crafting community! We hope you can join us in supporting this great cause.

$200 in total prizes! To help support this card drive, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 2 lucky winners and a $20 gift certificate to 5 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by March 31, 2025 for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 7 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on April 2, 2025.

For today’s blog hop, I created a quick and simple card featuring some products from the March 2025 Release collection.

someone special

As a background, I used a square panel of Crafty Necessities: Nimbus Cardstock, embossed with the Royal Brocade 3D Embossing Folder. I added Dark Night Fresh Dye Ink to the inside of the embossing folder before running it through the die-cutting machine for a letterpress effect.

As a focal point I used a small part of blossom branch created with Craft-A-Flower: Cherry Blossom Branch Layering Die Set and Olive Fresh Dye Ink. To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the Thinking of You Stamp Set, stamped in black ink.

For today’s blog hop, I used the Craft Your Life Project Kit: Flower Arch from the March 2025 Release collection.

This beautifully designed set features a stunning semi-arch of flowers, perfect for framing your projects. It also includes a selection of heartfelt sentiments, ideal for a variety of occasions. By splitting one stamped image, I was able to create two quick and simple floral cards.

I started by stamping the floral image with black ink and used a coordinating layering stencil set to add colours to the flowers and leaves. I used here the following Fresh Dye Inks: Butternut, Orange Sorbet and Apricot Frost from Dessert Dreams Fresh Dye Ink Set, Bamboo, Olive and Moss from Tropical Forest Fresh Dye Ink Set, Misty Morning and Cloudy Sky from Tranquility Fresh Dye Ink Set. Next, I cut the image in half and used the larger part for the first card.

To finish the card, I added a panel of Crafty Necessities: Dark Night Cardstock to the background and a sentiment from the set.

To create my second card, I used the other part of the floral image, matted with a smaller panel of Dark Night cardstock.

To finish it, I stamped my sentiment at the bottom of the design.

For today’s blog hop, I created a simple card featuring some products from the February 2025 Release collection. The Craft-A-Flower: Bearded Iris Layering Die Set is a fabulous addition to the Altenew Craft-A-Flower series, beautifully capturing the elegance of the iris flower.

I started by die-cutting all the elements from white cardstock and used the newly released Shades of Purple and Whispering Woodland Fresh Dye Inks to bring the petals and leaves to life.

To create my background, I used Stencil No. 4 from the Patterned Petals Stencil Set along with Fresh Leaf Fresh Dye Ink. I repeated the stencilling process until I had a beautifully seamless pattern.

To finish the card, I added a sentiment from the Label Love Stamp Set, stamped in black ink, and adhered it with Instant Dimension Foam Tape to give the design an added layer of depth and dimension.

You can easily mix and match them to craft personalized plant arrangements that enhance your creations.

I started by die-cutting all the elements from white cardstock and used Cottage Garden Artist Alcohol Marker Set N to colour them in.

To create a flowerpot I used a scrap leftover from previous project (which features Essential Textures: Terrazzo Press Plate/Foil Plate and hot foil technique). For the background, I simply inked my 9"x12" Ultra Sticky Mat: Grid with black ink and then pressed a white cardstock panel onto it to create a grid image.

For today’s blog hop I created two simple cards featuring press/foil plates from the December 2024 Release collection. My first card features Essential Textures: Terrazzo Press Plate/Foil Plate and hot foil technique.

2025

I combined the Hot Foil Roll - Gold (Mirror) with Crafty Necessities: Cloudy Sky Cardstock and added pink, purple, green, and yellow paint splatters from the Altenew Artists' Gouache Set to create this fun, shiny, and colourful background.

2025

To finish my card, I added the 2025 numbers created with the Bold Numerals Die Set and Crafty Necessities: Purple Wine Cardstock, along with the "hello" sentiment from the Lovely Flowers Press Plates/Foil Plates.

For my second card, I used the Lovely Flowers Press Plates/Foil Plates and applied Cloud White Pigment Ink to the plate before pressing it onto Cloudy Sky Cardstock panel. I love the delicate and elegant impression of the flowers.

Altenew Stampwheel 2.0 Release Blog Hop!

Hello, everyone, and welcome to the Altenew Stampwheel 2.0 Release Blog Hop! If you came here from the Altenew Blog, you're on the right track. If not, be sure to go back and start from there so you don't miss a thing!

$300 in total prizes! To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $100 gift certificate to 1 lucky winner and a $50 gift certificate to 4 winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or each designer’s blog post on the blog hop list below by November 19th for a chance to win. Altenew will draw 5 random winners from the comments left on each stop of this blog hop and announce the winners on the Altenew Winners Page on November 21st, 2024.

*The winner of the $100 gift certificate will be chosen from comments left on the Altenew blog.

The Stampwheel 2.0 builds on the success of the original Stampwheel with notable upgrades, including a larger workspace with a detachable side, precision inch scales, and a high-quality photopolymer Sticky Mat. This innovative tool retains the original feature of a rotational clear plate that locks into place at 16 equal intervals. The Sticky Mat, made from high-quality photopolymer, ensures that your paper and stencils stay securely in place. Additionally, the right side of the Stampwheel 2.0 frame is detachable to accommodate larger stamps, stencils, or paper. Both sides of the frame feature an inch scale for easier alignment.

For today’s blog hop, I wanted to create something on A4 paper to see how easy it is to use the removable side frame and adjust the workspace for larger papers and stamps.

Stampwheel 2.0

I started with white A4 cardstock and stamped a smaller flower image from the Billowing Peonies stamp set using Obsidian Pigment Ink. Next, I used a masking technique to cover the peonies and stamped floral sprig images from the Dainty Bouquet stamp set.

Stampwheel 2.0

I used the coordinating Billowing Peonies Layering Stencil Set and applied the following ink shades to add colour to the flowers and leaves: Rose Quartz, Puffy Heart and Purple Wine from Rose Petal Fresh Dye Ink Set, Pastel Sunrise and Canyon Clay from Martian Terrain Fresh Dye Ink Set, along with Misty Sage, Mossy Meadow and Green Opal from Jade Dreams Fresh Dye Ink Set.

Stampwheel 2.0

To finish the design I added some green ink splatters.

Stampwheel 2.0

I'm still not sure if I want to trim it and make some cards, so for now, I used a pink paperclip to hang it on my inspiration board. Would you cut it and make cards, or leave it as wall decor?

For today’s blog hop I created a Christmas card featuring Intertwining Leaves Layering Die Set from the November 2024 Release collection.

holiday greetings

I started by die-cutting all the elements needed to create a leafy wreath. I used a smaller branch and die-cut all the layers from Reindeer Moss, Forest Fern, and Misty Morning cardstock. I also used 4 simple, one-layer branches die-cut out of Misty Morning cardstock.

Intertwining Leaves Layering Die Set

Next, I created my background by attaching a panel of Dark Night cardstock to a card base and adding splashes of Titanium White Artists' Gouache for a wintry feel. I arranged my die cuts in the shape of a wreath and added Mother of Pearl Gem Sparkles for extra shine and elegance.

holiday greetings

My last step was to add a sentiment from the Modern Poinsettia Stamp Set.
